Boost fan engagement with Flip Stories on TikTok!

TikTok continues to innovate by offering creators and artists new ways to engage with their communities, with the introduction of its latest feature, Flip Stories

Flip Stories allow users to share two images in a single story, adding an element of surprise and interaction with their audience. The concept is simple: users first see an initial image and then must hold the “Hold to Flip” button to reveal the second one. This format is perfect for concepts like “before/after” photos or for unveiling exclusive content.

To post a Flip Story, creators just need to go to the creation page by pressing the “+” button and selecting the Story option. From there, they can either take a photo within the app or upload images from their device. For now, the format only supports images, excluding videos.

An important detail for creators: TikTok not only shows who viewed the first image but also tracks who took the time to reveal the second one. This data is invaluable for gauging real engagement from your followers, allowing you to identify your most dedicated fans and tailor your content accordingly. It’s also a great way to directly interact with your most engaged audience members.
As is often the case, TikTok has teamed up with influential artists to test and promote this new feature. Billie Eilish, who was the first to use the Fan Spotlight feature  (which highlights fan-created videos on her profile), was also the first to experiment with Flip Stories. She used the feature to share “before/after” photos from her tour preparations, perfectly demonstrating the potential of this engaging format.
