In our previous report on the influence of the Spotify algorithm on music consumption, we discussed the influence of Spotify’s algorithm and how it works. Our research has shown that recommendation on streaming platforms is becoming one of the key factors in the discovery of new talent. In fact, nearly one out of five streams on Spotify comes from an algorithmic playlist, which drives the recommendation process.
